Designing the perfect bedroom involves creating a space that is both relaxing and cozy. While the concept of coziness can be interpreted in many ways, our gallery of ideas highlights a variety of approaches to achieving this. Soft, pale paint colors and subtle patterns certainly have their place, but spare rooms often offer the freedom to experiment with vibrant colors and bold patterns. Wallpaper is an excellent medium for this, especially in rooms that aren't used daily. However, it's essential to ensure that the fundamental layout of the room aligns with your intended use. If space and budget permit, incorporating built-in storage solutions can transform the room, providing a more streamlined look than if it were filled with standalone furniture.
Window treatments play a crucial role in a bedroom’s ambiance. Preferences vary widely, with some individuals favoring complete darkness for restful sleep, while others enjoy waking up with natural light. Luxurious, floor-length curtains can add an elegant touch, especially when crafted from thick, warm materials ideal for winter. To let in daylight while maintaining privacy, consider pairing them with sheer blinds. Budget-conscious individuals will find that ready-made curtains are a viable option, and blinds alone can be a cost-effective window dressing solution. Custom blackout blinds, made from your fabric of choice, can also be a budget-friendly upgrade.

To address this, we designed bookshelves on either side of the window, concealing the units while also visually shortening what was previously an excessively long space.” The addition of a bed tester contributed to achieving the quintessential English style the client desired.
